Termagant won Moyglare Stakes

Termagant, the Kevin Prendergast-trained filly, won Moyglare Stakes. The winner, ridden by Declan McDonogh, was taking a massive step up in class after winning a maiden in June, but she proved equal to the task.

As a win-and-you're-in race, victory secured Termagant a place in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf, but Prendergast made no mention of that 1-mile contest in his post-race comments. In fact, the veteran Irish conditioner suggested that Termagant may not run again this year, stating that her major goal is now the Irish 1000 Guineas back at the Curragh next May.

Spring House won Del Mar Handicap

Spring House ridden by Alex Solis won by a nose over Sir Dave with Joel Rosario riding in the 70th running of the $250,000 Del Mar Handicap on Sunday. With the victory, Spring House earned an automatic berth in the Breeders' Cup Turf

Spring House went off at 5-2 and paid $7.60 with his 10th career win, which put him over the $1 million mark in career earnings for owner R.D. Hubbard. His time of 2:12.61 was off his record-breaking effort of 2:11.14 set in last year's Del Mar Handicap.
