Game Face won Princess Rooney Handicap

Game Face outclassed her rivals in Saturday's $350,000 Princess Rooney Handicap at Calder race course, pulling off for the 6 3/4-length victory under an Edgar Prado hand ride. By winning the six-furlong Princess Rooney, Game Face earned a spot in the Breeders' Cup Fillies and Mares Sprint at Santa Anita in Arcadia, California, on November 6.

Bred in Kentucky by Marilyn F. Seltzer, Game Face is the first registered foal out of the unraced Galleon of Gold (Gone West), who has since produced an unnamed yearling colt by Indian Charlie. Galleon of Gold is herself a daughter of multiple Grade 1-placed stakes winner Harbour Club (Danzig), making her a half-sister to the stakes-winning sire Holzmeister (Woodman).
